The WV e-Directive Registry, through the WV Health Information Network, will make make accurate, relevant information on advance directives and physician medical orders available in a medical crisis 24/7 to health care providers and ensure that patients’ wishes will be respected throughout the continuum of health care settings.  Click on the logo for more information on the Registry.


The Physician Order for Life-Sustaining Treatment (POLST) Paradigm system has distinguished itself as being the national best practice for ensuring that end-of-life treatment preferences are honored. The POLST Paradigm Program (which includes West Virginia’s Physician Orders for Scope of Treatment [POST] program) provides a method for converting a person's treatment preferences into medical orders that are recognized throughout the health care continuum.  Click on the logo for more information about this training.
